It’s hard to narrow down all of the Web 2.0 to a top ten list. I’ve cheated a little by adding more than one site to a category, but here are my top ten categories.
- Google Docs/Drive
- Google Sites and E-Portfolios
- Edmodo
- Picasa
- Glogster
- Symbaloo
- Paper Slide and Music Videos Link to video: http://www.fi.ncsu.edu/project/fizz/pd/differentiation
- Prezi
- Google Maps
- Kahn Academy Videos
SC Resources: DISCUS and StreamlineSC
Chrome Apps
- SlideRocket
- AudioTool
- WeVideo
- Sumo Paint
- Pixton Comic Maker
- Flash Cards
- Quizlet

Your Google Earth tutorial on School Tube was very helpful. I have a question about using the program with students.
When classes are adding placemarks for locations of cities in Spain for high school Spanish classes, will they be added permanently so that the teacher can check them? Or will the sites only be viewed from the computer that they were created on by the student? Any help with information on how the placemarks are viewed by the public? Thanks

I’m glad the tutorial was helpful. If a student adds placemarks to Google Earth, the placemarks will only be saved on that one computer. Choose Save Places As from the File menu to save the placemarks to that computer. However, you can create a kmz file of student placemarks that can be saved on flash drives, e-mailed, posted on a website, or shared on a network drive. All the student needs to do is create a new folder in the Places window (right click to add new folder) and drag all of the placemarks into the new folder. Right click on the folder and choose Save Place As and you will create a kmz file which can be posted anywhere. I like to encourage students to create the folder first and then save all of their placemarks to that folder as they’re working. Then they just do a quick Save As to create the kmz file. Please let me know if you have other questions.
